Forty-five minutes of nothing else.

Two hot towels, pre-shave oil, a straight razor worked with the grain and then across it, and a cold finish. The oldest thing on the menu and still the best hour in the shop.

01The appointment
  1. 01

Two hot towels and pre-shave oil to soften everything before steel touches skin.

  2. 02

The first pass goes with the grain, the second across it. Never against it — that is where the irritation comes from.

  3. 03

A second towel, then a cold one to close everything down.

  4. 04

Balm chosen for your skin rather than whatever is loudest on the shelf.

Book this if

  • The morning of something that matters
  • Anyone who has never had a straight-razor shave and should
  • Skin that reacts badly to a cartridge razor

Worth knowing

  • This is not a fast shave and it is not meant to be. Book it when you have the time to enjoy it.
  • If you have active acne or a skin condition on the face, tell us at booking. Sometimes the right answer is a beard trim instead, and we will say so.
