About Marcus
Marcus opened the shop on Chapel Street after eleven years behind other people’s chairs, most of them in Bridgeport and Brooklyn. He built Halftone around the thing he kept not finding: a room where the cut gets the time it needs.
His work is built on the blend. Skin fades that hold their gradient for three weeks, beard lines squared to the jaw rather than to a template, and freehand design work when someone asks for it.
He takes the first appointment of the day and the last one, and he still cuts his father’s hair on Sundays.

I have been chasing this haircut for six years and someone finally just gave it to me.
Marcus spent ten minutes asking questions before he picked anything up. That has never happened to me in a barbershop.
I moved to Branford and still drive in. Say what you want about that.
